On Friday, September 26, 2025, the third day of the Agona Kwanyako Akwambo Festival was filled with excitement, energy, and unity as residents came together to celebrate in two vibrant sessions.
Morning: Community Cleaning Exercise
The day began with a massive clean-up exercise, spearheaded by the youth of Agona Kwanyako. With great enthusiasm, they worked across the community to ensure the town was neat, well-organized, and ready to welcome visitors for the festival’s highlight events.
This activity not only promoted cleanliness but also strengthened the spirit of togetherness among the people.
Evening: Repping Your Jersey Mega Float
By late afternoon, the festival atmosphere shifted to a lively and colorful street parade.
At exactly 4:30 p.m., the much-anticipated “Repping Your Jersey” Mega Float kicked off. Starting from the Kwanyako Hene’s Palace along the road linking Gomoa Akotsi, the parade drew crowds of residents and visitors, all proudly wearing jerseys of their favorite football teams.
The float made its way through the town, eventually ending at Linda Door Pub, a popular entertainment spot opposite Agona Kwanyako Methodist School, near Merku’s Enterprise (famously known as the “Green Store”), right at the heart of Kwanyako.
A Parade of Global and Local Football Spirit
The streets were awash with colors as fans repped some of the most famous football teams in the world.
Jerseys from Barcelona (La Liga), Chelsea (Club World Cup Champions), Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool (EPL Champions), Real Madrid, Juventus, Brighton (EPL), and several local Ghanaian teams were proudly displayed.
The variety reflected not only global football passion but also the deep love for the sport within the Kwanyako community.
An Unforgettable Celebration
The “Repping Your Jersey” float has become one of the most memorable highlights of this year’s Akwambo Festival.
It resonated strongly with the youth and brought immense joy to citizens of all ages, making it a celebration that will be remembered for years to come.
