The Chief Executive Officer of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), Malick Basantali, officially resumed work on Tuesday, January 13, 2025, following widespread rumours about his health and alleged death.
Speaking during a brief meeting with board members, Mr. Basantali described the reports as unfounded and misleading, stressing that sickness is a natural part of human life.
He noted that as human beings, everyone is vulnerable to illness at any time, and such experiences should not be misinterpreted or exaggerated.
He further stated that life and death are beyond human control, regardless of one’s status or power, emphasizing that only Almighty Allah determines the lifespan of every individual. According to him, rumours suggesting that he had passed away or was critically ill were baseless.
Mr. Basantali assured stakeholders that he has fully recovered, is in good health, and has returned to duty with renewed strength and commitment to serve.
