In the early hours of February 26, 2026, a military aircraft landed at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital to transport Sandra for specialized care. The transfer follows medical recommendations from doctors who assessed her condition and advised that she be moved to a better-equipped facility for advanced treatment.

The unfortunate stampede occurred in November 2025 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium during a military recruitment exercise. Sandra was among five individuals who sustained critical injuries in the incident. At the time, the injured victims received immediate medical attention.

Sandra Baafi Boateng, a professional nutritionist and nurse, had long aspired to serve in the military. Her passion for military service motivated her to participate in the recruitment exercise last year.

Sources indicate that the decision to transfer her to Accra was made by the Ministry of Defence after reviewing the severity of her medical condition. A military helicopter was dispatched to ensure her safe and swift transportation to the 37 Military Hospital, where she is expected to receive comprehensive and specialized care.

The development was highlighted by the LAWSON TV morning show team, led by host Kwame Tanko, who have been closely following the victim’s situation.

Sandra’s transfer marks a significant step in her ongoing medical journey, as family, friends, and well-wishers remain hopeful for her recovery.
