Honourable Chief Mike Dery, Political Coordinator at the Central Regional Coordinating Council (CRCC) and Presidential Staffer, has called on Ghanaians—particularly the Muslim community—to offer prayers for peace as global tensions continue to rise.

He made this appeal during the presentation of Ramadan items to the Cape Coast Muslim Council, an event held to support the faithful as they conclude the holy month of Ramadan.
Speaking on behalf of the First Female Vice President of Ghana, Her Excellency Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, and in the presence of other dignitaries, Chief Dery urged Muslims to remember ongoing international tensions involving the United States, Israel, and Iran in their prayers.
He cautioned that Iran, being one of the world’s major oil producers, plays a critical role in the global energy market. According to him, any escalation in the conflict could drive up oil prices, which may have negative ripple effects on economies worldwide, including Ghana.
Chief Dery further emphasized that John Dramani Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) remain committed to safeguarding Ghana’s interests and delivering meaningful development when entrusted with governance.
In addition, he revealed that the President is expected to visit the Central Region soon to inspect ongoing development projects, signaling continued attention to regional growth and infrastructure.
As Ramadan draws to a close, the call for unity, reflection, and prayer comes at a time when global developments continue to have far-reaching implications for nations across the world.
