Ghana’s top-notch dancehall artiste, Charles Nii Armah-Mensah, popularly known in the music industry as Shatta Wale, has officially announced his entry into the smartphone business with the launch of a new phone company in Ghana.

In an announcement made earlier this morning, January 19, 2026, on his official Facebook page, the multiple award-winning musician expressed great excitement and pride as he shared the news with fans. According to Shatta Wale, the move is aimed at creating job opportunities for Ghanaians, especially the youth and loyal members of the SM fanbase.

Shatta Wale revealed that the smartphone brand, Hotwav, will not only be distributed across Ghana but will also reach other countries within the West African sub-region. He emphasized that the company is committed to providing affordable, accessible, and locally driven smart devices designed to support how people live, work, and stay connected.

As a part owner and brand partner of Hotwav, Shatta Wale stated that it is his responsibility to ensure the availability of quality smartphones across all 16 regions of Ghana and beyond, making technology more accessible to the everyday Ghanaian.

He further disclosed that there will be a special SM-Series smartphone, uniquely crafted to reflect his personal brand and the strong community surrounding the SM movement.

This exclusive series is expected to resonate strongly with his fans and supporters.

The announcement has generated widespread positive reactions, with many praising Shatta Wale’s commitment to entrepreneurship, youth empowerment, and reducing unemployment in Ghana.

This development follows his earlier business venture, SHAXI, which has already created significant engagement and employment opportunities for young people.
