US Court Adjourns Ken Ofori-Atta Case to April 27, 2026

Former Ghanaian Finance Minister, Hon. Nana Yaw Kennedy Ofori-Atta, appeared before a United States court on Monday, January 20, 2026, following his arrest by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) over an alleged visa expiration and overstaying, according to confirmed reports.

During the court proceedings, Hon. Ofori-Atta reportedly appeared under a case number rather than his name, an indication that he remains in the custody of ICE.

He was also seen wearing an ICE-issued shirt, further confirming that he is still being held by U.S. immigration authorities.

Sources close to the proceedings revealed that the presiding judge granted additional time to his legal counsel to prepare and file further legal documentation in relation to the case.
